About us

We're educators with over 30 years of experience teaching in the UK and abroad, from early education through to university level. Having taught in the classroom and our own children at home, we know how differently people learn; therefore, we build our courses, mini apps and PDFs with that in mind.

We are aware some learners pick things up quickly and others may need more time or a different method. All are perfectly normal, and all deserve to be catered for.

What we care about most is helping learners reach the point where they do not need us anymore — building confidence and skills that let them continue learning independently, long after they've finished a course or class.

"Our goal is to build learners who can keep going on their own."

Questions before you start

Do I have to buy every course?
Not at all. Buy exactly what you need — a single course, a single Grammar level, or everything together. Nothing is bundled unless you choose to bundle it.
Which course should I start with?
If you're not sure, take the placement test above — it points you to the right course and level in a couple of minutes. Every course also starts with a free first module, so you can try before committing either way.
Can more than one child use the same purchase?
Each course is tailored to the individual learner, so a purchase covers one person. If you've got more than one child working through the courses, keep an eye out for sales and discounts — we run these regularly.
Can I get a refund?
As these are digital products, we're not able to offer refunds once a course has been accessed. If something isn't working as it should, get in touch at contact@theenglishlanguageladder.com and we'll be happy to assist you.
Does my progress save if I switch devices?
Yes — once you've created an account (free or paid), your progress is saved and synced automatically. Just log in with the same email on any device and you'll pick up right where you left off.
